Slive, appearing on the Open Mike radio show this morning, was asked his thoughts on a variety of topics, including the transformational “Agenda for Change” speech he gave about college athletics on the first day SEC Media Days on Wednesday.
I also took the took the opportunity to ask Slive about UCF’s potential and whether he believes the Knights will someday be in a BCS league.
“Yes,” he replied. “They’ve done a terrific job (in building their program). The president (John Hitt) is one of the more respected presidents around. It’s a great program in a great community. I wouldn’t be surprised over time, as things continue to work out, that they will be in a position to reach their aspirations.”
Here’s an idea, Commish. Since UCF is already beating SEC teams in bowl games (see Georgia in Liberty Bowl), how about the league dumping Vanderbilt and adding UCF?
